We are an emerging league that is part of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA). OK NICA programs use mountain biking as a tool to develop a community of athletes with strong minds, bodies, and character. Our programs fill a niche for students whose needs may not be met by traditional interscholastic sports. We get kids and families outside, and welcome ANY athlete in grades 6-12 to participate. We support diversity in ability, ethnicity, gender, orientation, and skill level.

Hi there, I’m James Dunbar. I am originally from Bentonville, Arkansas and have now lived in Tulsa for the past 10 years. I work as a certified Bike Technician at Tulsa Scheels and proudly serve as the Adventure Program Coordinator for Oklahoma NICA. I’m passionate about mountain biking and have been for more than half my life. My family is rooted in mountain biking, and I cannot wait to continue that here in Tulsa.
I’m so excited to be part of OK NICA’s mission to build strong minds, characters, and empower our kids for life through cycling while also helping grow an inclusive and supportive riding community! I could not imagine being part of a better organization – Let’s Play Bikes!
Hello, I’m Stephanie Leazer. I grew up riding bikes in South Texas and have called Edmond, Oklahoma, home for the past fourteen years. By day, I’m a software developer at Love’s Travel Stops, but much of my free time is spent growing mountain biking across Oklahoma. I serve as President of the Oklahoma Mountain Bike Association and coach with Edmond United, where my freshman daughter rides as an athlete and my spouse volunteers as a parent-coach. Through Oklahoma NICA, I’ve seen firsthand the incredible way cycling helps kids build confidence, friendships, and resilience.
